About Me

My photo
I'm an old-fashioned girl who likes to feel feminine. I'm a mother of one beautiful little lady. Our dog, Henry, considers himself her older brother. I have a husband who loves me and makes me feel beautiful. Who could ask for more?

Young At Heart

I just turned another year older yet inside I still feel like a kid. I love to chew bubble gum, lick the spoon from brownie batter, play kickball and peek-a-boo, blow bubbles and watch them blow away in the wind, feel my bare feet on cool grass, swing, sing nursery ryhmes, color pictures, get a kiss from our dog, feed the fish at the park and cuddle. I'll hopefully grow wiser as the years pass by, but inside I'll still be a little child longing to have fun and be loved.

good food, good times

What can be better than birthday food? My sweet husband took me out for seared tuna and filet at a sunset dinner. My parents took me out for scallops, crabcakes and the most divine chocolate soufle you've ever put into your mouth. My tastebuds were having their own little party! We did not photograph the soufle because we were in too big of a hurry to eat it. Happy Birthday to me!

Oscar The Meyer Lemon Tree

We have this special lemon tree named Oscar. It's special because a close friend bought it for our daughter before she was born and it's been growing along beside Emma ever since she was a wee little thing. Well a little miracle happened this past Sunday evening. My husband and I were laying in bed and through the loud wind we heard this tearing noise and a big KA-BOOM! We jumped out of bed and opened our back porch door to find our neighbor's enormous tree covering our entire porch! And what should happen to be in the middle of the porch? Oscar. Being a lover of plants and especially this particular one, having brought it in and out of the cold so it could sunbathe during the day and be warm at night and making sure it had enough water and food and being very proud of it's many blossoms that promised several sweet lemons down the road, I ran straight out onto the porch in my pajamas and socks and instantly looked for Oscar. And there it was sitting in the middle of massive branches, untouched. I swooped it up and carried it over the mess onto our stone patio where it faced no more danger. Yes, Oscar is our little miracle tree and it took a sour situation and made sweet lemonade.

Tickled Pink With Pink Little Toes

There's something about a newborn that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. This little one belongs to a special gal who's a friend of mine. I watched her grow as I took photographs of her mother's beautiful belly throughout her pregnancy. She is a little dear!

An Egg's Perspective

Eggs that are laid during the Easter season must feel extra lucky. They must wonder what color they might be dyed and if they'll have any polka dots or stripes. And they might even get a chance to play hide and seek with children dressed in pastels and fancy shoes. They get to say peek-a-boo with their bright colors through green blades of grass and congregate in beautiful baskets. May all the eggs this Easter feel beautiful and bright!

Sometimes I Wish...

Sometimes I wish I were a child again just for a day. I picture coming home after school and eating graham crackers with icing and milk and knowing I had a few hours to let my imagination soar before suppertime. Or waking up on Christmas morning with excitment flowing out of the tips of my fingers. I would cuddle with a new teddy bear and feel safe at night with it snuggled next to me. Oh, and to have a storybook read to me! What a pleasure. And to wake up and know that I was unconditionally loved would be/was the safest feeling of them all.

There Are Days You Need A Cookie

There are days you need a cookie and this just happened to be one of them. Filling your house with the smell of chocolate chip cookies baking in your oven is true therapy. And watching children devour them is also fun. The chocolate mouths that follow and the crumbs on little hands make my heart smile. And I won't deny enjoying a big spoonful of cookie dough with a cold cup of milk while watching the cookies bake. Yes, today was a cookie day.

Spring Freeze

My poor plants don't know what's going on. I take them out of the sunshine and put them on my kitchen counter for a little gathering of their own. It looks like they're having their own little meeting. They don't realize I am doing them a favor with the weather predicted to get down in the 20's the next two nights. What would they say if they could talk?

Make A Wish Then Kiss

Emma out of the blue the other day said, "Make a wish, then kiss." I loved it so much I had to get out my lipstick and cover her with kisses and capture this saying in photographs. And yes, I did make my wishes as well!

Henry the First

Henry is our first child. We've had him going on five years. He thinks he is a cat and will snuggle with you whenever you let him. He loves to kiss necks and when he gets excited he'll sneeze. His favorite thing in the entire world is a spoonful of peanut butter. He's our snuggle-buddy.

Emma's Moods

What a joy it is to be a mother and watch your child/children grow! This little dear has been the sunshine in our lives for almost three years now. Everyday she says things that tickles my red painted toes. We are blessed to have her to love. May she grow up to be everything she dreams.
